NDU | University

In 2010 Red Bull Austria commissioned the New Design University’s graduates of interior architecture & 3D design to create a new event stand.

The only guidelines were to include the logo and keep the weight and packing dimensions down because it had to fit in a Mini car. My colleague and I decided to design a weatherproof shelter, usable for sunny as well as rainy days - a shelter with a clear front so one could still follow the action of the event. We used a flexible steel frame, strong textile fabric and highly resistant, transparent plastic foil.

The shelter was foldable like a pop-up tent, can be used individually or put together like a tunnel. With only 120 cm in the diagonal and a weight of 2 kg it fitted perfectly in a Mini car.
