ceramics

art college

These objects were made at Art College. In the first two years we took sculptural art and textile art. From the third year on one could choose between the two. I went for sculptural art where we had ceramics, wood and metal workshops. For the final exam we had to pick one of the workshops and create a final object. I choose ceramics with the topic "contrast" and my master piece was called "war & love" as this is – in my opinion- one of the biggest contrasts in life. War is the outer part, depicted as the metal looking edgy shape of a bombshell. Love depicted as red roses (real ones for the final exhibition) that fill the inside of the shell. It symbolizes not only contrast but should make one think - what was first...how did we come to this world?! First there was love...how did we get to the point of starting a war? ...
